WORK OF ART EXVOTOS PAINTINGS
Exvotos:
Gratitud al milagro de sobrevivir a una vida llena de infortunios. (Gratitude for the miracle of surviving a life full of misfortunes.)
It is a series of pictorial works and plastic pieces located in chronological order and in sequence from 1980 to 2020, I narrate my biography through family situations which entailed difficulties for being in many ways different from the established. In this work I explore and reflect on the traditional ex-voto culture from a contemporary and ironic point of view.
I used the concept of narrative ex-voto as a means of expression because of its structure: image and text, which is reminiscent of a comic vignette, in addition, the ex-voto is autobiographical in principle. The Leitmotiv or center of the work is the gratitude to all the misfortunes, circumstances, objects or people that forged my life and empowered the artist I am today.
The work I worked in chronological order, as I was creating, the technique was mutating from white / black ink to full color, this detail accentuated the idea of advancement in the decades. The result is a subversive and moving work.

This series of paintings in mixed media is a tribute to the skilled hands of men that have endured over time and continue rambling on the streets.
